Marvin Kirchhöfer impressed again in the ATS Formula 3 Cup at the Lausitzring, where he finished first, second and third. The young man from Leipzig ended the race weekend with his seventh win in only the 14th race of the season. Kirchhöfer crossed the finish line first, following a tough battle with runner-up Emil Bernstorff. The roles had been reversed in the first race, with the Brit coming home first ahead of Kirchhöfer. In race two, in which the first eight drivers from the opening race traditionally start in reverse order, Kirchhöfer finished third. Ahead of him, America’s Gustavo Menezes clinched his first win of the season, with Austrian Thomas Jäger finishing runner-up. Kirchhöfer extended his lead in the overall standings. The Nürburgring hosts the next round of the junior series “powered by Volkswagen” from 2nd to 4th August.
