Kia has achieved a remarkable feat in India with the Syros EV. In Kochi, 150 customers received their electric SUVs on the same day. The event took place at Grand Hyatt on August 17 and came during the Onam season. The delivery also earned recognition from the India Book of Records.

A big day for Kia Syros EV
The deliveries were handled by Incheon Kia. The dealer handed over 150 Syros EVs from its first batch in Kochi. It had more than 650 bookings for the electric SUV by the delivery event.
The dealer also delivered 500 Kia cars across Kerala on the same day. Incheon Kia is targeting 10,000 deliveries during 2026 and is also moving towards 50,000 total sales since starting operations.

Why buyers are choosing it
The Syros EV is Kia’s second mass market electric model in India after the Carens Clavis EV. The larger 51.4kWh battery gives a claimed 526km range and produces 171hp. It supports 100kW DC charging.
The smaller 42kWh battery offers a claimed 443km range and 135hp. Both versions have 255Nm of torque. The SUV also gets 7.4kW and 10.8kW AC charging choices.
Kia has packed the cabin with features. These include a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, an eight speaker Harman Kardon system, 360 degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, front parking sensors and a dual camera dashcam.
The rear seats can slide and recline and also get ventilation. The front seats are powered and ventilated. A 16 litre frunk adds some extra storage space.
The EV is offered in seven variants and nine colour choices. It also gets a lifetime high voltage battery warranty for the first owner and an assured buyback programme offering up to 80 percent resale value after three years under applicable conditions.
Kia also offers BaaS from Rs 7.99 lakh with a battery rental charge of Rs 3.30 per km.
Kia also has 892 touchpoints across 407 cities and produces vehicles at its Anantapur plant. The company says its sustainable network includes 150 Green Workshops with solar power and recycling measures across the country.
Kia has a reason to be happy
The 150 deliveries give the Syros EV a strong start in Kerala. The record also shows that electric SUVs are finding buyers beyond the early adopter group. With more than 650 bookings reported by the dealer, the demand story does not stop with this first batch.
