A few days back, Kia pulled the covers off the Syros EV and gave everyone a first look at its newest electric SUV. Now, the company has officially launched it in India with prices starting at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex showroom). It is Kia’s second locally made electric vehicle after the Carens Clavis EV. Buyers get two battery choices, a claimed driving range of up to 526km, premium features, and a long list of ownership benefits that make the Syros EV one of the most interesting new electric SUVs in its segment.

Two Battery Options With Long Driving Range
The Syros EV is available with two battery packs.
- 42kWh battery with a claimed range of 443km
- 51.4kWh battery with a claimed range of 526km
The larger battery also delivers 171PS and can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.1 seconds. It supports 100kW DC fast charging, which charges the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 39 minutes. Buyers also get battery conditioning, regenerative braking with paddle shifters, i Pedal driving mode, Vehicle to Load function, Virtual Engine Sound System, battery heating, and a 10.8kW AC onboard charger.

The Syros EV carries a modern look with several electric vehicle specific design details.
It gets Kia’s Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube LED headlamps, Star Map LED lighting, flush door handles, aerodynamic alloy wheels, gloss black skid plates, roof rails, LED fog lamps, and new front and rear bumpers. Buyers can choose from nine exterior colours, including the exclusive Matte Graphite finish for the X Line version.
