Kawasaki Versys 1000 and Kawasaki ER-6n India launch soon

It has emerged that new model onslaught from India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) won’t end with the launch of Z800 in January.

Only recently, the bike maker launched the Z1000 and the Ninja 1000 and it has now emerged that it might be gearing up to also bring to us the Versys 1000 and ER-6n. Between these two bikes, the Versys 1000 will come to us first.

All this means that it is only a matter of time before Kawasaki India’s product portfolio expands to as many as nine models- Kawasaki Ninja 300, Kawasaki Ninja 650, Kawasaki Ninja 1000, Kawasaki ZX10R, Kawasaki ZX14R, Kawasaki Z800, Kawasaki Z1000, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and Kawasaki ER-6n.

The Kawasaki Versys 1000 is and adventure motorcycle and is powered by an in-line-four, 1,043cc, liquid-cooled, 16-valve engine, that has a max power output of 118bhp @ 9,000rpm and peak torque stands of 10.4kgm @ 7,700rpm. The motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Versys 1000 is built on an aluminium twin-tube frame and has 43mm inverted forks up front and a horizontal back-link suspension at the rear.

The Kawasaki ER-6n, on the other hand, is a naked streetfighter styled bike and is powered by a four-stroke, parallel-twin, 649cc, liquid-cooled, eight-valve engine that has a max power of 72bhp @ 8,500rpm and peak torque of 6.5kgm @ 7,000rpm. The motor comes mated to a six speed manual ‘box.

The ER-6n is built on a perimeter high-tensile steel frame and has 41mm telescopic forks up front, along with an offset single-shock at the rear.
