JK Tyre produces monster tyre – an India first!

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. today rolled out India’s largest Off the Road (OTR Tyre) in Mysore. The size specification of the tyre is 40.00-57 60PR VEM045 E4. It’s a tubeless tyre, weighing in at 3700 Kg. The tyre takes the accolades for being the largest tyre made in India yet. Till now, such tyres were being imported from USA and China for local consumption.

The tyre, which stands almost 12 feet from ground and is meant for being fit into 240 tonne Rear Dump Trucks – the largest haulage equipment in India. JK Tyre is the first tyre company in India to manufacture this size of tyres. JK Tyre is a major player in Off-The-Road (OTR) tyre segment and has presence across India in almost all applications like Mining, Rock Excavating, Quarrying, Dam Building and Port operations.

Enthused with the achievement, Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd said, “We commenced this project last year as part of our expansion plans and have been successful in achieving the targets set. With this launch we have set another benchmark in the tyre industry. Our endeavor is to deliver benchmark performance in this category of products which is used in the most grueling condition at mines and other application areas.”

“With plans to bring in several pioneering technologies and benchmarking customer service standards there’s lot which we will roll out in future ”, he further added.
