Isuzu MU-X India Launch Scheduled On May 11

The new Isuzu MU-X, revealed last year, will be launched in India on May 11. This will mark the debut of the MU-X in India. It is essentially the SUV version of the popular Isuzu D-Max V-Cross truck, and is based on the Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Inside, the new MU-X gets a subtly revised, dual tone beige and black interior. While the seats, armrests and door trims are swathed in beige leather, the steering wheels and centre console now benefit from dull silver accents as well as faux wood trim. The centre console now hosts a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone mirroring options.

Under the hood and in select markets, the 2017 Isuzu MU-X comes with an updated version of its 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. It now makes 174.3 HP and 430 Nm of torque; 50 Nm up over the old car, across a wider rev band (now 1700 to 3500rpm), matched to either six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

In India, it could either get a 1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 150 HP  and 350 Nm of torque, or the D-Max V-Cross’s 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine rated at 134 HP and 320 Nm of torque. The 1.9-litre unit is only available with 2WD, with the choice of either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
