The Bajaj Dominar 400 will be seen patrolling the streets of Istanbul as the local Metropolitan Municipality and Police Department will use the Indian motorcycle in the city. Both the motorcycles, customised for the respective authorities, were showcased at the Motobike Istanbul 2018.
The motorcycle which will be used by the Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor of the metropolitan municipality will be painted black while the one which will be used by the police force will be coloured white. The motorcycle will also receive a tall windscreen, LED blue and orange Police lights, and a top box.
Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor is a multi-sports club of the metropolitan municipality of Istanbul in Turkey. Emniyet Genel Müdürlüğü or the General Directorate of Security are the civilian police force responsible for law enforcement in Turkey.
The biggest Bajaj motorcycle proved its mettle on the Trans-Siberean Odyssey, where three riders covered 15,000 kms in 53 days on their Dominars with no break down or part change on what is believed to be of of world’s toughest terrains.
Mechanical specifications are not likely to be different from the standard Bajaj Dominar 400 and thus the motorcycles would continue to draw 35 PS of power @ 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm from its 373.3cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, triple spark, 4-valve DTS-i engine.
