New spy-shots of the 2017 Suzuki GSX150R testing in Indonesia have emerged, giving us a closer look at the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R15 rival before its market launch, which is expected to take place this financial year itself. To be heavily based on the Gixxer SF sold in India, the GSX150R will come with sharper styling, and of course, more power. However, it unlikely to come to India anytime soon.

As for the styling, the new GSX150R is expected to feature a full fairing with sharper details that’ll be noticeably different from that of the Gixxer SF, along with new graphics and even a full-LED headlamp. The tail section of the 2017 Suzuki GSX150R will be different from the Gixxer SF as well, while other noticeable features include a fully-digital instrument cluster, disc brakes at both ends and dual exhaust pipes.

Other cycle parts like the frame and the swing-arm are expected to be shared with the Gixxer SF, and chances are that the GSX150R will also employ the Gixxer SF’s engine as well, albeit in a different state of tune. On the Gixxer SF, the 154.9 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine is indeed capable of producing 14.8 PS at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.
