After showcasing the Vezel at the Tokyo Motor Show last month, Honda has launched the crossover in Japan at a starting price of 1.87 Million Yen.
The Honda Vezel is based on the 2014 Jazz’s platform. Honda will sell the Vezel in Japan in two models- 1.5 liter petrol and 1.5 liter hybrid. The 1.5 liter engine is good for 131 PS and 155 Nm of torque. This motor is available with two transmission options- a CVT and a 7-speed stepped CVT. The car is available in 2WD and 4WD configurations. In the Japanese driving cycle, this model returns a fuel efficiency figure of 20.6 kmpl for the 2WD and 19 kmpl for the 4WD.
The hybrid engine is a 1.5 liter block, which is assisted by an electric motor. This combination produces a peak power of 132 PS. The hybrid Vezel is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, with the fuel efficiency figure ranging from 21.6 kmpl to 27 kmpl.
The base petrol variant- Vezel 2WD is priced at 1.87 million Yen and the base 4WD petrol is priced at 2.08 million Yen. The Honda Vezel base hybrid is priced at 2.19 million Yen, with the top-end model priced at 2.68 million Yen.
The Honda Vezel will be available with eight exterior paint options, and Honda will offer the car with 16 inch steel rims, 16 inch alloys and 17 inch sport wheels.
