It is a well known fact that Audi India intends to launch the upcoming Audi A3 Sedan in the fast growing Indian market to compete with the Mercedes CLA and BMW 1 Series sedan that are also headed our way.
Audi has high hopes with the A3 sedan and the upcoming car looks poised to become the most lethal weapon in the German car maker’s arsenal. As is obvious, the A3 sedan will be positioned below the A4 and will be the most affordable Audi sedan in the world.
Audi India CEO Mr. Michael Perschke is of the opinion that the our car market isn’t matured enough for a premium luxury hatchback and hence, Audi India won’t be launching the A3 hatchback in our country.
What we have here is a speculative rendering of the Audi A3 sedan that gives us a glimpse of what the car might look like.
Underpinning the A3 sedan is the much publicized MQB platform and the car will borrow design cues from the A3 sedan concept that made its debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
The A3 sedan, which is almost a shoe size smaller than the A4 sedan, is 4.4 metres long and will be considerably shorter than the A4.

2.0 TFSI, 200 hp
1.6 TDI, 90 hp
