The India bound, 2016 Honda Civic has been launched in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM 110,426.51 (INR 18.11 lakhs) for the entry-level 1.8L variant, while the 1.5L Turbo and 1.5L Turbo Premium variants start from RM 124,076.29 and RM 131,883.37 respectively.
The 1.8-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine in the base variant is rated at 141 hp and 174 Nm of torque. Honda claims that the Civic 1.8L is capable of delivering a fuel economy of 15.9 km/l, and at the same time, sprint from 0-100 km/h in 10.4 seconds. The Turbo and Turbo Premium variants are powered by an all-new a 1.5-litre, direct-injected and turbocharged, 16-valve, in-line-4 cylinder petrol engine which makes 174 hp and is paired with a CVT. This engine is claimed to deliver 17.2 km/l, while the 0-100 km/h sprint is dispatched in 8.2 seconds.

Equipment wise, the new Honda Civic in Malaysia offers six airbags, LED tail lamps, cool full-colour LCD instrument cluster, and eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat as standard in all variants. The 1.5L variants are available with features like optional LED headlamps, walk away auto lock, remote engine start, chrome door handles and 17-inch two tone alloy wheels. A 7-inch touch-screen display equipped infotainment system is also in the offing, which can be specified to run both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
