Till a faster and bigger Apache comes along, TVS is treating us with some matte blue paint. The Apache RTR 180 now spawns a Matte Blue Edition, which, as the name suggests, wears a matte blue paint-job with some red pin striping. This new addition to the Apache’s colour palette, which already includes glossy shades of yellow, grey, white, red and black, can be specified with a dual channel ABS system.
Mechanical changes are zilch, as the TVS Apache Matte Blue Edition continues to be powered by a 177.4 cc, single-cylinder engine, good for 17.03 bhp and 15.5 Nm of torque, cradled in a “racing chassis”. Power is harnessed via a five-speed transmission, while 0-60 kph is dismissed in a claimed 4.5 seconds. The Matte Blue Edition is expected to command a small premium over the RTR 180’s INR 87,282 (ex-showroom Delhi) price tag.
