Bajaj V15 (7)

The new Bajaj V15 has been launched in India with prices starting from INR 62,820 (ex-showroom Mumbai). The premium commuter motorcycle is powered by a Bajaj’s single-cylinder, 150cc, DTS-i engine that delivers maximum torque of 13 Nm at 5500 RPM, and a peak power of 12 PS at 7500 rpm. However, one of the Bajaj V15’s USP has to be the fact that its fuel tank uses scrapped metal sourced from the decommissioned and dismantled INS Vikrant, Indian Navy’s first aircraft carrier.

The Bajaj V15 measures 2044 mm long, 780 mm wide, 1070 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 1315 mm. Ground clearance is rated at 165 mm; saddle height stands at 780 mm, while the V15 tips the scales at 135.5 kg (kerb weight). The Bajaj V15 is available in two colours – Ebony Black and Pearl White. We rode the new Bajaj V15 today in Pune, and until a proper road test review comes along, here’s an exhaustive image gallery.

Need we say more?

Bajaj V15 (11)

The V15 skimps on Bajaj branding all around, and adopts its own logo, which refers to the V sub brand.

Bajaj V15 (16)

The shapely tank can hold 13 litres of petrol, along with 1.7 litres in reserve.

Bajaj V15 headlamp (1)

The trapezoidal, chrome surrounded headlamp cluster’s illumination is rated at a powerful 55/60W.

Bajaj V15 instruemnt cluster

The fuss-free instrument cluster gets a dual coloured LED fuel level indicator, and a speedometer.

Bajaj V15 seat

The V15’s seat is well padded, comfortable, and even features contrast coloured stitching.

Bajaj V15 rear cowl (1)

A removable rear cowl reveals the pillion section of the seat, along with red grab rails.

Bajaj V15 tail lamp (2)

The LED tail lamp cluster with its chrome surround and period styling adds a dash of retro to the rear.

Bajaj V15 (19)

The Avenger sourced mirrors are done up in black, while the bar end weights come with a dull silver finish.

Bajaj V15 (22)

A 240 mm front disc brake takes care of the front anchors, while 33 mm diameter front forks are the largest in its class.

Bajaj V15 (14)

Levels of fit and finish are top notch; although the black plastic section below the side panels had already shown signs of fade.

Bajaj V15 (4)

The 120 section rear tire and the bulbous exhaust cannister give the V15 a meaty stance from the rear.
