Hyundai has showcased a number of models at the ongoing 2016 Busan Motor Show in South Korea. Amongst them, the biennial event saw the world premiere of the RM16, a new ‘N’ model concept. Alongside the concept was the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo. N is the company’s high performance sub-brand that was launched in September last year.

The RM16 is the third variant from the sub brand after the RM 14 and RM 15 that were introduced at the 2014 Busan Motor Show and the 2015 Seoul Motor Show respectively.  New additions to the model include extended hood, slim headlamps and wide air intakes sets.

Propelling the concept is the conventional 2.0 litre T-GDI engine that is tuned to develop a power output of 300 PS while the peak torque stands at 383 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels with the help of 6 speed automatic transmission via an electronic limited slip differential. Also on offer is the electronically variable exhaust system.

Weight distribution figures are carried over from its predecessor and hence stand at 57% for the rear and 43% for the front, benefitting from a center of gravity less than 500 mm from the ground. Compared to a traditionally-constructed steel-based car, the aluminum space frame on the concept is covered by light, rigid carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) body panels help in saving weight. Such weight-saving innovations have helped in improving handling and acceleration.
