Hyundai posts 4.6% growth in exports

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, registered a growth of 4.6% in Exports for the month of May 2013. The domestic sales accounted for 32,102 units and exports stood at 24,754 units.

Commenting on the sales, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, “Hyundai has been able to maintain positive growth and will gain in market share in a market that is at the near bottom level and is expected to move into positive growth in the coming months as the demand for the petrol cars is improving.”

“In these challenging times, we are continuously increasing market share by improving operational efficiencies and aggressive marketing campaigns. Our products Elantra and Verna continue to be the market leaders while our compact cars have grown in their respective segments. The export volumes have increased and we continue to improve on our leadership position on account of strong demand from the non European markets.”
