Hyundai Motor India has unveiled the design expressions of the upcoming new Global SUV – All New Tucson. Tucson, a native American name which portrays an image of a ‘Strong Sun’, lends a premium character with performance to the Brand. Hyundai Motor says that the Tucson is their first SUV created with the brand’s new development philosophy of ‘Innovation of Fundamentals’ showcasing Safety, Performance, Ride & Handling, Durability and Low NVH.
Based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 (FS2.0) Design Philosophy, the Tucson is designed to convey ‘Style and Dynamism’. The All-New Tucson gets a distinctive presence achieved through its character lines, The exterior of the Tucson is designed to reflect the ‘Dynamic and Strong’ SUV character which is further complemented by ‘Premium and Refined’ interiors.

Visually, the 2016 Tucson will feature Hyundai’s signature hexagonal shaped grille and twin LED headlamps with DRLS while the rear will get i20 inspired LED tail lamps. On the interiors, the SUV will feature an all black theme with contrasting silver trims that are visible on the HVAC vents and the center console, leather wrapped steering wheel and an eight inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Internationally, the 2016 Tucson is available with a 1.7 litre diesel engine, 2.0 litre diesel engine and a 1.4 litre petrol engine. The India bound model is expected to receive the 2.0 litre diesel engine that produces 182 hp of maximum power output and 400 Nm of peak torque. Hyundai India could launch the model only with a manual transmission while an automatic transmission could follow later.
With the new Tuscon, Hyundai aims to set new standard of design in the Premium SUV segment. The 3rd Generation All New Tucson will be launched on November 14, 2016. The SUV is expected to arrive via the CKD route so expect the prices to hover between INR 17 – 22 lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi).
