The Auto Expo 2016 is on in full swing and Hyundai India made their presence felt by unveiling the all-new Tucson and showcasing their Genesis luxury brand. Apart from that, there’ll be the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo Concept, the brand’s high performance sub-brand N, the Sonata PHEV, and last, but not the least, the sub-4 meter SUV Concept for India, called the HND-1.
The all-new Hyundai Tucson Global SUV is being showcased at the Expo. This was essentially a show debut of the premium SUV for India with the launch taking place sometime later in the year. With the new Tucson, Hyundai is planning to slot a product between the hot-selling Creta and the expensive Santa Fe. The design of the premium SUV is governed by the New Age Hyundai Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 philosophy. For India, the new Tucson is expected to be powered by a 2.0 litre CRDi diesel engine with a peak power output of 182hp and peak torque rated at 400Nm. Featuring Hyundai’s Active On-Demand AWD system the car will be available only with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Speaking at the Tucson Unveil at the Auto Expo, Mr. YK Koo, MD & CEO, HMIL, said, “Our theme for the 2016 Auto Expo is ‘Experience Hyundai’ Our goal is to offer intuitive experience to customers and touch their lives adding brilliant moments and experience through Hyundai. The Auto Expo is a very important platform to showcase Hyundai’s strength of design, technology and future products. With the spirit of challenge and innovation; we will expand the Experience Hyundai programme to strengthen the Hyundai brand in 2016.”

Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo Concept
Developed for participation in the PlayStation Gran Turismo racing game series, the ‘Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo’ concept highlights sustainable technology and race car design, representing the future potential of the Hyundai N high performance brand.
Late last year, Hyundai launched its stand-alone luxury brand called Genesis. Today, the Korean car-maker has revealed the Genesis 3.8 luxury sedan in India for the first time. However, the Genesis 3.8 has been around for a while now, and is sold as the Hyundai Genesis in international markets. This is not to be confused with the range-topping Genesis G90 that debuted internationally in December 2015. The Hyundai Genesis is expected to be launched in India by this year.
