Hyundai IONIQ 5 Sold Out for 2023 in India

Hyundai India has achieved a new sales milestone for their flagship electric SUV, the Ioniq5. The Korean carmaker has sold 500 units of the electric SUV since its launch around 5 months ago. In January 2023, Hyundai launched the Ioniq5 in India at Rs. 44.5 Lakhs for its first 500 customers.

Platform and Features of Hyundai Ioniq5

Hyundai Ioniq5 is based on the new E-GMP platform and is the second electric vehicle after Kona EV. In terms of features, Hyundai has loaded the Ioniq5 with numerous features. The features list includes parametric LED headlights, taillights, Active Air Flaps (AAF), Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, Level 2 ADAS, etc. In addition, the Ioniq5 gets a twin-screen set-up each of 12.3 inches, an infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, BOSE Sound system, ventilated seats, Bluelink connectivity, etc.

Hyundai Ioniq5 is powered by a 72.6kWh battery pack. This battery pack assists the motor to churn out 217hp and 350nm of output. This results in a claimed ARAI-certified range of 631kms in a single charge. Moreover, this vehicle can be charged from 0-80% in 18 mins. with 350kW DC fast charger. Hyundai has also provided the Ioniq5 with a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature which allows it to churn out 3.5kW of power for accessories.

Pricing and the Competition

The carmaker launched the Ioniq5 at Rs. 44.5 Lakhs Ex-showroom for the first 500 customers back in January 2023. Now, the carmaker has achieved the target by selling the allotted 500 units of Ioniq5 for this year. However, it is required to see if the company allocates more units for the rest of this year. As of now, the Hyundai Ioniq5 competes with its rivals like Kia Ev6, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and BYD Atto 3.
