Hyundai i40 showcased at Geneva Auto Show 2011

Hyundai Motors in the recent years have made their mark in the international industry. At the Geneva Auto Show Hyundai showcased their new addition in their “fluidic sculpture” series the i40. Basically it’s a wagon built keeping the European standards of safety, space and interiors in mind at the R&D HQ of Hyundai in Germany.

With the i40 Hyundai enter the D-Segment with this mid-size wagon offering a number of engine options of which the notable ones are the 1.7 Crdi producing power values of 134bhp and the 1.6 GDI Petrol producing power values of 114bhp, if you look closely to our previous post on the Hyundai ix35(https://www.motoroids.com/uncategorized/hyundai-tucson-is-here.html) you will notice that they share the same engines. These engines do not just exhibit power but also prove to be economical and greener with low emission values.

Hyundai plans to keep the i40 top notch with features like reclining front and rear seats, heated steering wheel for that chilling winter day, automatic windscreen de-misting system, rear view camera, Xenon HID, Day time running lights, Lane keeping assist system are just a few goodies you would expect in this wagon.

Launch will be on the second quarter of the year for Europeans markets only; this one does not plan to make its US debut one of the spokesperson said. Later the year Hyundai also plans to launch a sedan model.

With futuristic design and economical yet powerful engine the i40 has charmed our hearts. Not to forget the massive luggage space of 553 litres expandable to 1719 litres when seats are folded.
