Hyundai Motor India ltd (HMIL), India’s second largest car maker and largest exporter, recently revealed its official exhibit plans for the fast approaching Auto Expo 2014, which will be held at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida early next month. Along with the models that are currently on sale, Hyundai at Auto Expo 2014 would also showcase the highly anticipated Grand i10 compact sedan, new Santa Fe and i20 WRC vehicle.

Hyundai Grand i10 Compact Sedan
The Hyundai Grand i10 compact sedan will make its global debut at the Expo and is likely to go on sale towards late 2014/early 2015. The Grand i10 sedan will be to the hatchback sinling what the Dzire is to the Swift and the Amaze is to the Brio. Quite obviously then, these would be the biggest competitiors of the upcoming model and it would be interesting to see if the upcoming Hyundai offering would be sufficiently potent to give sleepless nights to the makers of these established brands. The Grand i10 sedan will share in plenty with the hatchback and is likely to be powered by the same engine options. This means that the car would get a 1.1 litre 3 cylinder diesel engine and a 1.2 4 cylinder petrol motor. Also, the car is very likely to benefit from the long features list of the hatchback and could first in class features like cooled glovebox, rear-ac, et al.
New Hyundai Santa Fe
The new Hyundai Santa Fe is coming our way and the launch event will be held in New Delhi on 5th, at the Auto Expo 2014. Expected to have a starting price of INR 23 lakhs, the upcoming model will come to us via CBU route and will be a Toyota Fortuner, Ssangyong Rexton and Ford Endeavour adversary. The car features Hyundai’s storm edge design language and looks every bit a moden Hyundai. Powering the car will be the same 2.2 litre diesel engine that powers the current model. However, this engine will be given a few updates to increase refinement, fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
Hyundai i20 WRC car
Hyundai will showcase the i20 WRC at the Expo 2014 as a part of a brand building excercise. The i20 WRC will be seen ‘yumping’ and sliding at the 2014 World Rally Championship and we believe that the silver-red Helix livery looks good on this very successful hatchback.
Could we please have a WRC edition (just the paint/sticker-job)of the i20 in India — this is really the hot hatch that everyone would love to own!
