Post success of the 650cc Aquila Pro, Hyosung plans to launch the GV250 in India. Essentially a toned down variant of its elder sibling- the GV250 looks to cash into the fast growing 250cc segment with a cruiser offering.
Powered by an air/oil-cooled four stroke engine, the fuel injected v-twin cranks out 28.5 bhp of power and 22nm of torque. The DOHC 8-valve 75° engine features roller bearing cam shafts, 2 piece spring dampened bevel primary drive gears, and dual squelch combustion chamber. Hyosung states that these features were previously confined to racing engines and not economical to incorporate into smaller capacity engines for street use until now.
On the styling front, the 2013 Hyosung GV250 differs quite a bit from the GV650- the 650 owners certainly wouldn’t be happy seeing a cheaper clone of their more expensive belonging.
Features wise, the GV250 would come with typical cruiser traits such as wide-grip cruiser handlebars, round headlamps, chrome plated spherical rear view mirrors, low slung split seats etc. The GV250 would feature six spoke alloy wheels as compared to the three spoked wheels on the GV650 with generous chrome treatment to the front forks and twin rear shock absorbers.
The Hyosung GV250 comes with a 5 speed gearbox and a rear drum brake setup- which might appear as a downside to many, but may work out for Hyosung on the pricing strategy.
Like everyone, we await the launch and price details of the new Hyosung on the block in India.
