Honda to Unveil HRV Compact SUV in 2014

It is raining compact SUVs ! Only some days back we reported that Volkswagen and Toyota plan to join the likes of Ford and many others by coming up with a compact SUV and now it has emerged that Honda might be soon seen including a compact SUV to its portfolio. The upcoming mini SUV will be based on the bigger CRV crossover and is expected to be about 4.2 metres long. The compact SUV will use the transverse engine-front wheel drive layout and might offer Honda’s real time AWD as an option on the top of the line variants.

Powering the car will be a 2.0 litre i-VTEC motor that pumps out about 150 Bhp of power and 350 NM of torque. It can also be safely expected that the 1.8 litre Earth Dreams diesel will make it to the engine options list of the upcoming SUV.

Honda’s new compact SUV, in all probability, will be named as HRV and should make its world debut in 2014. Thanks to a lot of component sharing with existing Honda cars, the HRV would come to us with a pocket friendly price tag.
