Honda City based Grace Hybrid (4)

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has announced the recall of 3,879 units of CVT variants of the City for a control software update. The recall will affect Honda City CVT variants manufactured from Feb’14 to Nov’14. The recall is taking place in several global regions, and is meant to update the software that manages the continuously variable transmission (CVT).  The CVT control software will be updated to optimize the Hydraulic Pressure applied to the CVT.

Honda Cars India Ltd will update the software at HCIL dealerships across India from 24th October 2015. A message in this regard will be communicated to the customers directly.

The customers can also check whether their car is covered under this campaign by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite which has been created on the company’s website (www.hondacarindia.com).

If you own a Honda City CVT variant, use the url above to see if your car requires the update. Do share the word with your friends

  1. The honda quality is now a myth. The newer gen city is plagued with many issues hitherto unknown in earlier generation. The race to garner more customers than rivals with gimmicky features rather than good build and quality control and the added cost cutting is root cause of many a problem with the auto makers in general. Hope Honda garners more trust in the industry.
