Honda Motorcycles and Scooters Limited put up a stellar show in the month of December, delivering a Year on Year (YoY) overall growth of 36%. The company Grew by 18% in the motorcycle segment and by a massive 54% in the scooter segment. The company sold a total of 2,96,144 units in December 2013.
In addition, for the period of April to December 2013 the company posted a robust growth of 30% and ended the year with a market share of 24% for the domestic market. The company’s market share with domestic and exports sales taken into consideration, is also an impressive 22%.
The star products for the company have been the evergreen Activa and the newly launched Dream Neo Motorcycle. Dream Neo sales crossed 1 lakh units in 7 months. The company also launched its biggest ever engagement campaign Dream Neo Superstar Contest to celebrate the overwhelming customer response to the vehicle.
HMSI has also taken the next step towards becoming a major export hub. The company has started two wheeler exports to Honda’s new JV company in Bangladesh.
