Indian car market is slowly warming up to the idea of cars with automatic transmission and this has led to various auto makers launching auto variants of their high selling models. While the diesel version of Honda Brio hatchback is still some time away,the Japanese car maker will launch the Brio Automatic in Indian car market as soon as on October 18. The Brio offers an option of a CVT transmission in Thailand car market. However, the India spec Brio automatic will get a re-worked version of City’s 5 speed autp ‘box. The Brio Automatic will have an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency figure of 16.5 kmpl and safely expect the Auto variant to be a little less powerful than the Brio manual.
Recently, a Brio Automatic was spied at the Chennai dealership. On the outside, the Brio Automatic looks similar to the Manual variants and the only difference on the outside will be the Auto badges. It may be noted that automatics have started making a lot of sense to those with long daily commutes in ever increasing traffic and the auto might not be an all that bad option for customers of Honda Brio. But when is the diesel variant coming?

If the car is ready they should launch it. Why wait for Diwali? Makes no sense to me. It wouldn't make much sense to provide the auto option only on the highest variant. High time autobox is offered as an option on all variants.
