As per SIAM data of Indian two-wheeler industry and internal study, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced the closing financial year 2017-18 on a historic high, creating a new world record.
Honda 2Wheelers India’s total sales grew at 22% from 5,008,230 units in FY’2016-17 to 6,123,886 units in FY’2017-18. Honda’s domestic sales crossed 4,725,067 units in FY’2016-17 to ever highest of 5,775,243 units in FY’2017-18. Creating new records on the global platform, exports crossed the 3 lac threshold for the first time and increased 23% from 283,163 units in FY’2016-17 to 348,643 units in FY’2017-18.

Speaking about the sales performance in FY’2017-18, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, that 2017-18 is the year of rise of Honda in India and Honda 2Wheelers India is the only two-wheeler company in the world to grow at a pace witnessed never before, adding 1 million plus incremental customers in a single year.
He further added that led by strong customer demand, Honda has surpassed its most challenging target ever and sales apexed at 6,123,886 units with 22% growth. With 4 brand new models, new capacity infusion, addition of 500 new network outlets increasing the Company’s reach to hinterlands, Honda successfully consolidated leadership further in scooter segment while aggressively gaining new motorcycle customers.
