Hero MotoCorp is best known for its commuter motorcycles, but buyer preferences are changing. More people are now looking at motorcycles with bigger engines, better features and stronger road presence. Seeing this demand, the company has shared its plans to bring several new premium motorcycles during FY27.
The upcoming models will be launched under both the Hero MotoCorp and Harley Davidson brands. Most of these motorcycles will be positioned in the 150cc to 350cc category, which has become one of the fastest growing segments in the Indian market.
Premium motorcycles will play a bigger role
Hero MotoCorp already sells several premium motorcycles across different price points. Its current lineup includes:
- Xtreme 250R
- Xpulse 210
- Karizma XMR
- Harley Davidson X440
The company has confirmed that more motorcycles will join this range during FY27. There is also a possibility of new versions based on the existing 440 platform along with fresh Hero branded products. Reports also suggest that models like the Karizma XMR 250 and a larger Xpulse could arrive in the future.
150cc to 350cc segment sees strong demand
According to Hero MotoCorp, motorcycles between 150cc and 350cc recorded an 18 percent year on year growth in FY26. This was much higher than the overall two wheeler industry.
Many buyers are now moving from entry level motorcycles to more powerful options. Better income levels and the revised GST structure have also made this category more attractive. Bikes above 350cc have seen slower growth because of higher taxes, although many manufacturers have kept prices under control.
Hero Premia network is also growing
To support its premium products, Hero MotoCorp is increasing the number of Hero Premia dealerships across the country.
| Details | FY26 Status |
| Hero Premia outlets | 130 |
| Cities covered | 115 |
| Hero 2.0 dealerships upgraded | 490 |
| New Premia outlets added | 50 |
These showrooms offer a better buying experience and display Hero’s premium motorcycles, Harley Davidson models and Vida electric scooters under one roof.
Better product mix helped improve earnings
The growing share of premium motorcycles has also supported Hero MotoCorp’s financial performance.
Some key highlights include:
- EBITDA margin increased to 14.7 percent in FY26
- Better product mix improved profitability
- Cost optimisation also supported earnings
- Premium motorcycles continue to gain a larger share of sales
Premium bikes will also support global expansion
Hero MotoCorp is also taking its premium motorcycles to international markets. The company has entered Italy, Spain and France with Euro 5 Plus compliant motorcycles such as the Hunk 440, Xpulse 200 4V and Xpulse Pro.
Development work for future premium motorcycles is being handled by Hero’s technology centres in Munich and Jaipur, where engineers are working on new powertrains and advanced technologies.
