Dubbed as the Honda Maha Exchange Mela, the first-of-its kind grand carnival will be organized by Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) for customers in Delhi. The event will take place at Leela Ground, Geeta Colony, East Delhi and cater to both, new and pre-owned two-wheeler customers. With this event Honda is riding on the success of its pilot Maha Exchange Mela last year.
The event is supported by CredR an online marketplace for buying and selling of pre-owned automobiles. Started by Nikhil Jain, Nittin Mittal and Sumit Chhazed in 2015 claims to provide the ‘Ultimate User Experience’ and connects buyers and sellers to ensure genuine and transparent transactions. At the event customers will be provided with attractive offers on all segments of pre-owned & new Honda two-wheelers. CredR will offer on-spot evaluation and exchange of pre-owned two-wheelers.
Customers who buy a financed new Honda bike at the event will obtain benefit upto Rs. 7,000 over the prevailing market rates. This includes lower than market prevailing interest rate, zero documentation and zero processing fee and many other benefits like extended warranty and on spot delivery.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMSI, said that estimates carried out by Honda display 10% of two-wheeler buyers are exchange customers in the organized market and the figure reaches close to 15% if on-organized sector is considered in the count. This is very low considering that the motorcycle industry has already crossed the 16 million sales mark. Honda believes that there is a high latent demand for pre-owned bikes. Therefore following the success of the pilot project, Honda has taken a strategic decision to venture into a new business territory of pre-owned two-wheelers, with the Delhi edition Maha Exchange Mela. By the end of the current financial year 2015-16, the company aims to expand the concept to 10 cities across India.
