Ford has roped in the multi-talented Farhan Akhtar as the brand ambassador for its upcoming compact sedan, the Figo Aspire. Akhtar who has been seen in various roles in the film fraternity is well-known for his diverse talent as director, screenwriter, producer, actor, playback singer, lyricist and television host.
Ford India revealed the Figo Aspire compact sedan at the inaugural function of its USD 1 billion plant in Sanand. This compact sedan will come equipped with a 1.5L TDCi diesel engine and a 1.2L TiVCT petrol engine. Earlier reports suggest that Ford has ruled out the 1.0-liter Ecoboost for the Aspire due to cost reasons.

Ford claims that the 1.2-litre petrol engine will set a benchmark in fuel efficiency among its segment. This 1.2 engine is the same Sigma engine that was found on the outgoing Figo. This time though, Ford has updated the motor with a four-valve head and twin camshafts with variable valve timing. The diesel engine has been borrowed from the Fiesta and Ecosport.

The Figo hatchback will also follow the compact sedan but not before the later part of 2015. The hatchback will also be powered by the same engines that perform the duties on the compact sedan.
