The launch date for the Ford Mustang has been revealed. Ford India will officially launch their highly anticipated sports car at the Buddh International Circuit on the 13th of July. This will be the first time in the history of Ford that the mustang will be made in the Right Hand Drive (RHD) configuration for markets such as the U.K. and India.
The company will launch the model as a fastback for now while the convertible model might follow later. The said model will not be the North-American spec model but the Euro spec model. A few units of the Mustang, which made its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo in February, were recently spotted at the company’s yard in Chennai.
Powering the pony is a 5.0 litre Ti-VCT engine that is capable of producing a power output of 435 hp while the peak torque stands at 542 Nm. This motor sends power to the rear wheels with the help of a six speed automatic transmission. The engine configuration allows the model to sprint from 0-100 kmph in a mere 4.5 seconds.
Coming to the interiors, the model will receive features such as premium upholstery, bucket seats and a touchscreen infotainment system. Prices remain unknown for now although it is believed that the model will arrive with a price tag in the range of Rs. 1 crore. The Ford Mustang will be imported to the country via the CBU route.
