Ford Figo to be exported in the near future!

Not much time earlier, we had reported that the Figo has been selling like hot cakes. This was evident by the sale of about 16,000 Figos in a time span of 14 weeks since its launch. Well, it is human to want more, and even a child could predict that Ford would get more if it tries to sell the car abroad. Ford has managed to sell about 6000-7000 units of the Figo every month since its launch.

Ford will soon export the Figo after it manages to get out of the strained waiting periods for the particular model (owing to the mind boggling demand). The first market which will have the Figo on its streets could be the South African market. Ford recently started exporting its engines manufactured at its Chennai plant to countries like Thailand and South Africa. Apart from South Africa, a few more Asian countries will get the Figo too.

The Ford story is not about supporting the domestic market, but overseas too. I am excited. In the very near future, we will be sending the first load of Figos to South Africa. That is the first overseas market. In the next 3-4 weeks, we will announce the names of other markets where Figo will be going. They are mainly in the Asia Pacific and Africa region and a couple of other areas as well.

He also revealed that Ford will concentrate on other segments other than the small car segment. We could expect something new from the firm if the market growth and response favors Ford.
