The Renault Duster compact SUV has proved to be a midas touch of sorts for Renault India and it won’t be an overstatement to say that India’s first modern Compact SUV (The Daihatsu Terios based Premier Rio isn’t a modern car by any stretch of imagination) has taken our country’s car market by storm. While the Renault Duster has been continuously bringing many new car buyers to Renault India dealerships, we do see some dark clouds looming over Renault in near future. What with the Ford EcoSport close to being launched in our country?
The Ford EcoSport has been caught testing on Indian roads on numerous occasions. Anyone with an I.Q. greater than that of a cauliflower would be capable to deduce that the upcoming Compact SUV have good chances of eating into the sales of the Duster.
What we have here is the first image of both the Ford EcoSport and the Renault Duster parked besides each other on Indian soil.
From what can be made out, the pic was taken at Ennore port, Chennai. It may be noted that this is the same port from where Ford India exports its vehicles. It is being said that Ford India could be transporting the India spec Renault Duster along with the EcoSport to some international technical centre for further benchmarking.
The Compact SUV duo was seen parked along with other Ford models. It seems like Ford India is trying hard to get it very right with its Renault Duster rival.
