Fiat Toro rear end revealed in official images

The Fiat Toro pick-up was recently revealed in official images and now official images of the rear end of the four door, pick-up coupe crossover have been revealed. Expected to launch in the first quarter of 2016 in Brazil, the production for the renegade based pick up has already begun at Fiat’s factory in Pernumbaco.

Official images reveal the posterior of the Toro that features sleek wraparound tail lights and a barn style tail gate that gives access to the 1 tonne payload. The company claims that there is enough space for five occupants ‘with the comfort of a luxury car.’ The Toro measures 4,915 mm in length which seems to be shorter than some of its competitors.

Three trims that will be offered initially include Country Adrenaline and Urban. The top trim will have standard features such as 18-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control system, Hill Descent Control, LED daytime running lights, fog lamps, dull silver skid plates and chrome accents. A 5 inch UConnect infotainment system, GPS navigation, a reverse camera, Bluetooth connectivity and a large MID in the centre of the instrument cluster could also be on the cards.

Engine options will include a 1.8 E-Torq Flex petrol engine that produces 138 hp and a 2.0 16v Multijet turbo diesel engine that produces 170 hp of power. While the former will be mated to a 6 speed automatic gearbox and a 4×2 setup the latter will be mated to either to a 6 speed manual gearbox or a 9 speed automatic gearbox and with both 4×2 and 4×4 setups. Once launched, the Ford Toro will lock horns with the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi Triton.
