We reported in detail when the it emerged that the new Fiat Punto Avventure (aka Cross Punto) is headed to India and was spied testing on our public roads. Now, the car has been teased ahead of its Auto Expo 2014 public debut.

The Fiat Punto Avventure aka Cross Punto will rival the Cross Polo and the upcoming Toyota Etios Liva Cross and the car will be the fourth such model (taking into account the defunct Fabia Scout) to come to us.
The Fiat Punto Avventure will have a tail gate mounted spare wheel for a “macho” look and the upcoming model should appeal to those who require the visual appeal of an SUV with the practicality of a hatchback. The Fiat Avventure, as already seen in the earlier pics, will sport plastic body cladding. Also, there are very good chances that the Punto Avventure will have more ground clearance and bigger wheels than the regular variants.
The upcoming Fiat Punto Avventure aka Cross Punto will be powerred by the same 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine that powers the hatchback . The motor will be mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox, with power being sent to front wheels.
Dimensionally, the car will be similar in dimensions to the regular Punto hatchback and will measure- 3,987 mm in length. While the tail mounted spare wheel will make the Avventure longer than 4000 mm, it will qualify for the excise duty benefits. (Akin Ford EcoSport).
