After procrastinating the launch of the eagerly awaited turbo petrol Linea T-jet 1.4 litre sedan, Fiat India finally seems to be geared up for the car’s launch. The Linea 1.4 T-jet will be launched on the 8th of October.
The 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine of the Linea will produce 118PS of power and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Interestingly the Linea T-jet is the first car in India in this segment or below to feature a turbo charged petrol engine. We drove the car in Turkey three years ago at its very first international launch, and should we say, it’s one good engine and car to have your hands on the steering wheel of. Apart from the new engine the car will get features like leather upholstery, rain-sensing wipers, Hill Hold Assist (HBA) and 16 inch alloy wheels. As per sources close to FIAT, the Linea T-jet is expected to cost over Rs. 11-lakh and will only be available in the ‘Emotion Pk’ trim at the launch. Lower trims could be added later.
