According to Jean Jacques, Engine Developer, Ferrari, the main problem that they are facing with turbocharging is the lag.  He commented that it is not acceptable for a Ferrari engine to suffer from any kind of delay in power delivery.

Jean further said that Ferrari is won’t be borrowing the variable valve technology from Fiat called as Multiair. He revealed that the technology was tried out on the V8 engine of a Ferrari 430 but it wasn’t working at the required power output. He commented that the main benefit of using Multiair comes in torque but its difficult top get it work at high revs.
