It is a well known fact that famous supercar maker Ferrari is busy readying a more potent version of its popular 458 Italia supercar.

To be christened as the Ferrari 458 Monte Carlo, the new car could be unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show that will be held in September. The car was recently spotted testing Maranello and from the looks of it, is in the final stages of development.

The more powerful and lighter 458 could come with the Scuderia moniker and the latest set of spy pics reveals a fair bit more about the upcoming car.

The 458 Monte Carlo will sport a more aggressive front bumper with a bigger air dam and the car will have a lowered ride height. The car will also get a new set of alloy wheels that will wear wider tires. Other changes include an air inlet scoop in front of the rear wheels, racing stripes, a revised rear bumper and and a revised grille that will run between the taillamps.

As per what is being said in the auto industry, the Ferrari 458 Monte Carlo is expected to be as much as 100 kgs lighter than the 458 Italia and could get around 30 HP (22 kW) of extra power. This will take the total power output from the V8 4.5-liter engine well past the 600 HP (441 kW) mark. Lighter weight, coupled with additional power, should bestow the 458 Monte Carlo with a top speed of more than 325 kmph (202 mph) and a sub-3.4 seconds timing for  the 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) run.
