EICMA 2016 : Carbon Fibre Rich BMW HP4 RACE Prototype Breaks Cover

It seems Ducati’s 1299 Superleggera wasn’t the only carbon-fibre rich motorcycle at the EICMA. German two-wheeler maker BMW Motorrad too showcased its products, the most interesting of which was the HP4 RACE. The motorcycle revealed at the motoring event was an initial glimpse of the most exclusive model in the Company’s history to date. Yes, the motorcycle is still in the prototype stage and will be available for sale in limited numbers in second half of 2017.

It was initially left open as to how far the advanced prototype reflected what the final motorcycle would look like. The only definitive information provided by the Stephan Schaller, President BMW Motorrad, related to the frame and wheels. Schaller stated that  the HP4 RACE will feature the full carbon fibre main frame and carbon fibre rims as shown at the motoring event. More details about the model will be revealed in next spring.

As aforementioned, BMW Motorrard will produce the HP4 RACE in limited series with deliveries likely to commence in the second half of 2017. While the prototype was seen in all black look, the production version will don the trademark HP series paint scheme.
