Welcome the yet another naked street fighter bike from the EICMA event – presenting the middle weight 2016 Honda CB500F. Honda had teased its middleweight CB500F and CBR650F during an event in Milan ahead of this year’s EICMA show.

With the style cues from its sporty cousin, the CB500R the Honda CB500F stands sharper and edgier than its outgoing version with an aggressive body work. The LED light cage used for the headlamps gives the CB500F a mean, down-to-business look. The bike has returned angry!
The unchanged 471 cc parallel-twin liquid cooled engine from the predecessor powers the CB500F. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox to produce 47.5 PS and a peak torque of 43 Nm at 7000 rpm. The bike rides with an updated transmission in order to improve the gear shift quality. Apart from refinement updates the CB500F gets several rider-focussed upgrades like a larger fuel tank with a hinged cap, adjustable brake levers and wave style ignition key. The bike roars through a shorter muffler which is claimed to improve mass centralization. The front telescopic forks that were previously unadjustable now come with spring pre-load adjustment.
The 2016 CB500F will be rolled out in six colour schemes –
Ross White and Millennium Red,
Lemon Ice Yellow/Graphite Black,
Millennium Red/Macadam Grey Metallic,
Candy Energy Orange/Macadam Grey Metallic,
Pearl Metalloid White/Macadam Grey Metallic,
and Matte Gunpowder Black/Matte Krypton Silver Metallic.
The Bike is set to launch in the international markets by early 2016 and it unlikely to surface in India. No official word on the pricing of this street fighter! Stay tuned for more updates on the CB500F and the action packed EICMA!
This would have been a great bike in the Indian context instead of the CBR650F!
