EBR Black Lightning to ride into Long Beach International Motorcycle Show

The new EBR Black Lightning is set to burn the tarmac in California as the new roadster will debut on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Long Beach International Motorcycle Show. The Black Lightning is an “accelerated” version of the 1190 platform, designed for superior street performance with improved rider ergonomics, higher torque delivery, and improved performance handling for all rider styles.

The Black Lightning is said to retain performance of the V-Twin found in the SX and RX versions. The 1,190 cc 72° V-Twin, Liquid Cooled, Four-stroke engine delivers 185 hp of maximum power at 10,600 rpm and 137.8 Nm of peak torque at 8,200 rpm. The revised gearing is claimed to have improved the torque delivery and acceleration of the engine, making it more responsive for street riding.

A lower seat height, lower foot pegs, higher bars, and an optional comfort seat, are designed to offer new riding position for a wider range of performance capabilities at a variety of speeds. The deliveries of the motorcycle are expected to commence in the Spring of 2017.

Speaking about the new motorcycle, Erik Buell said, “When you combine the upright seating with intense acceleration, you have the ultimate all around superbike. It has striking looks and performance for urban riders, and yet it is comfortable for a long day of riding or sport touring.”

The Black Lightning will be showcased at booth #737 at the Long Beach Progressive International Motorcycle Show. EBR Motorcycles will also present a Facebook Live Presentation of the 1190 Black Lightning on Friday, November 18 at 4:00pm PST on their Facebook page here.
