Ducati has added a new variant to the 800cc Scrambler lineup called the Urban Motard. Priced at ₹11.49 lakh, this variant gets some cosmetic changes over the entry-level Icon Dark variant. For reference, the Dark Icon variant is around ₹3 lakh cheaper than this variant. Other variants in the lineup include the Icon, Nightshift, and Desert Sled.
What you get
The Urban Motard gets a beak-like front mudguard which has been placed quite high. This is a clear inspiration from the Hypermotard. The paint scheme is new as well in the form of Star White Silk and Red GP 19. The seat is done in black and it gets a red tag. The teardrop steel tank gets interchangeable aluminum panels.
Speaking of aluminum, even the handlebar is placed lower than before for improved ergonomics. The Urban Motard is also the only variant in the lineup to use Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires in sizes 120/70 (R17) at the front and 180/55 (R17) at the rear. These wheels are similar to the wire-spoke units that are found in the Nightshift model. Other new bits include black engine heads with brushed fins and machined aluminum belt covers. Other bits of the Urban Motard remain similar to other Scramblers.
It is based on a trellis frame and it gets 41 mm upside-down Kayaba forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. It gets circular LED DRLs and a Halogen headlamp at the front and LED taillights and indicators. Some of the features include a USB charging port and an optional multimedia system to pair your smartphone. The Urban Motard is powered by the familiar air-cooled 803 cc, L-twin engine that produces 73hp at 8,250rpm and 66.2 Nm of torque at 5,750rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.
