One of the premium sports bike manufacturers, Ducati has launched its most powerful bike called Panigale V4 R in India. This bike is retailed at Rs. 69.90 Lakhs Ex-showroom.
However, the V4 R variant is equipped with a smaller 998cc engine rather than the 1103cc engine of its regular counterpart. With the sub-1.0L engine, this bike complies with the norms of WSBK (World Superbike) specifications.

The aesthetics of the Ducati Panigale V4 R
While the overall bodywork of the Ducati remains familiar, there are noticeable changes to the wings, with carbon fiber highlights. To comply with World Superbike regulations, Ducati has also made modifications to the layout of the air extractors. These extractors are in the lower sections of the fairing of the bike. Furthermore, Ducati has added a slew of new wings for enhanced aerodynamics of the bike.
Adding a touch of pride, the bike now proudly displays a prominent number “1” on its face and sides. It serves as a reminder of Ducati’s impressive domination in both MotoGP and World Superbike in the previous year. This trend of success has continued into 2023, making Ducati a force to be reckoned with.
The Race-Oriented Electronics
For an effective track performance, Ducati has embedded the Race oriented Electronics in the Panigale V4 R. The Desmosedici Stradale R engine now comes with modified Power Modes, enabling the riders to tune for optimum performance. Additionally, a new Track Evo display has been incorporated into the TFT dashboard, which provides improved visibility and essential information.
Moreover, the traction control system has also undergone refinements, ensuring better control and stability. To optimize the power delivery, dedicated engine maps have been created for each gear. This results in an impressive power and usability for riders across different riding scenarios. These electronic enhancements contribute to an enhanced riding experience on the V4R.

The Powertrain of the Ducati Panigale V4 R
At the heart of the matter of the Ducati Panigale V4 R is a 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine. This engine belts out a stunning 218hp of power at 15,500 rpm, setting a new benchmark in its segment. This engine is coupled to a 6-Speed Transmission that is tuned for higher rpm performance. This bike is capable to reach upto 16,500 rpm in the 6th gear and 16,000 rpm in other gears with its tuned powertrain.
Furthermore, the potential of this bike is accentuated by the racing Akrapovič exhaust. This exhaust will increase the power output of the bike to 237hp which is 3hp more than its predecessor version. The manufacturer recommends using the dedicated Shell oil which further improves the power output to a whopping 240hp. With these numbers and tuning, the Ducati Panigale V4 R is ready to rock with its immense track potential and dethrone its rivals in Racing.
The Tweaked Chassis
In terms of Chassis, the Panigale V4 R is constructed with the similar aluminum front frame. However, there are notable changes in the suspension system, as the V4R now features manually controlled Ohlins suspension components. These are the NPX25/30 forks at the front and a TTX36 rear shock. This setup allows riders to fine-tune their suspension settings for optimal track performance.
Moreover, the front end of the V4R has been upgraded with an additional 5mm of travel. Similarly, these tweaks were done to the V4 and V4 S models for 2023. Another remarkable feature is the swingarm pivot point, which can be adjusted in four different positions, each with 2mm increments. These chassis enhancements provide improved stability, control, and customization options for riders of the V4R.
The Wheels and Pricing
Ducati has retailed the Panigale V4 R at Rs. 69.99 Lakhs Ex-showroom in India. However, the Panigale V4 R features the Brembo Stylema brakes and forged wheels like the V4 S variant. The weight of the Ducati Panigale V4 R stands at 193.5kgs which is like the BMW S1000 RR M-Sport. However, the weight of V4 R drops to 188.5kg with optional race exhaust.
