Mercedes-Benz launches the new SL55 AMG Roadster in India

One of the prominent German carmakers, Mercedes-Benz has launched the new SL55 AMG Roadster in India. This launch has embarked on the return of the SL nameplate in India. Moreover, this car is brought to the country via the CBU route and is priced at Rs. 2.35 Crores Ex-showroom.

Exterior and Aesthetics of Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG

On the exterior front, this car boasts a sensational and sporty design that grabs the attention of the audience. Upfront the car gets angular LED headlights, a long bonnet with character lines, a signature Panamerica grille, and a sleek air dam on the bumper. On the side profile, this car boasts a stunning sporty profile with a dropped top enhancing the appeal of the cabriolet.

The Fender features the AMG moniker which stands for Aufrecht, Melcher, and Großaspach. Moreover, this car sits on large and stylish black alloy wheels. The beauty of this vehicle is accentuated by the wraparound LED taillights, adjustable spoiler, quad-exhaust mufflers, and black side mirrors. In terms of features, the carmaker has brimmed the new SL55 AMG with a plethora of equipment for the convenience of users. The features list includes a digital instrument cluster, infotainment system, HUD, carbon-fiber and AMG inserts, ambient lightning, etc. However, the main highlight of this car is the soft top which can be either opened or closed in 15 seconds at up to 37km/h of speed.

The Powertrain of SL55 AMG

At the heart of the matter of the new Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG is the 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. This engine is tuned for producing a generous 350KW (approx. 476hp) of power and 700nm of torque output. Meanwhile, the power is channeled to all the wheels via a 9-Speed Automatic Transmission and 4-matic+ AWD system. This results in the 0-100 sprint in 3.9 seconds and 295km/h top speed.

The German carmaker has retailed the new SL55 AMG at Rs. 2.35 Crores Ex-showroom. The new SL55 AMG joins the portfolio of Mercedes-Benz being slated between E-Class AMG and the GT 63 S E Performance. Furthermore, the newly launched Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG Roadster has locked horns with the Porsche 911 Cabriolet and Lexus LC500h in the market.
