Japanese auto maker Mazda recently release more details about the upcoming 2014 Mazda3 Hybrid aka Mazda Axela.
The soon-to-be-launched Mazda3 Hybrid will go on sale in Japan on 21st next month. The car will be powered by a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that will be mated to a variable transmission. The gasoline motor will be assisted by an electric motor.
The 2014 Mazda3 Hybrid will have a fuel economy of up to 30.8 kmpl in JC08 cycle (3.2 L/100km / 72.4 mpg US cycle/ 87.0 mpg UK cycle).
Mazda hasn’t revealed all the details of the upcoming Mazda3 variant but the images suggest that the car could have a revised instrument cluster and a new gear shift lever. Also, the Mazda3 hybrid appears to have a smaller boot than the regular variant.
The new Mazda3 Hybrid aka Axela Hybrid will go on sale for a starting price of ¥2,373,000 (inclusive of all taxes) in Japan.
