The Confederate Hellcat is a bit of a legend, in all forms of motorcycling. It matches out worldly, bespoke looks with devastating performance-the X132 Hellcat Combat is the world’s fastest unfaired, American big block V-twin motorcycle, since 2012. Following earlier reports and rumors, the 2015 Hellcat Speedster has arrived- filling the Confederate void after the X132 Hellcat was introduced way back in 2011. And it looks to have gathered some finesse, after ex-Ducati designer Pierre Terblanche got to work on it. The brief was to infuse the American hotrod with a unique, yet distinct and fresh piece of styling.
The one piece, carbon fiber tank, finished off with clear coat and the tractor style seat are all new and everything has been fabricated in-house at Confederate. The seat is bound in leather and features a slim LED tail lamp piece below. However, the centrepiece on the bike is the Hellcat’s redesigned billet aluminum case. Instead of the usual casting method, the case is machined from two blocks of billet 6061 aircraft grade aluminum.
The bike continues with Confederate’s home brewed, 132 cubic inch (2,163cc), V-twin engine with a power output of 121 BHP and 140 foot pounds of torque. The new ECU is tuned for performance more than cruising capabilities, and all that power is sent to the rear wheel through a five speed transmission fitted with drag racing ratios. Upgraded suspension bits include fully adjustable (rebound and compression) 48mm front forks and a custom Race Tech center mounted shock at the back. New brakes include a four pot caliper with a dual disc setup up from Beringer up front and a single pot caliper with a single Brembo rotor at the rear. The Speedster also comes with some 18 inch carbon fiber wheels from Blackstone Tek Carbon Fibre, wrapped up with some Metzeler Me800 rubber.
The Hellcat X132 Speedster will be manufactured in the United States and will be available worldwide for a sum of $ 65,000. Also a pre-payment of $10,000 will get one’s Speedster booked. The Hellcat retains its exclusivity as only 65 examples of this naked bruiser will be ever built!
