Citroen Expands Aircross X and Basalt X Range, eC3 X Gets More Range

Buying a new car during the festive season usually means looking at price, features and engine options together. Citroen has now added more choices to its SUV range for buyers who want to pick their car a little differently. The company has introduced new Aircross X and Basalt X variants, along with a small range increase for the eC3 X electric car.

The new models are available across Citroen dealerships in India from September 7, 2026. Prices start below Rs 10 lakh for the Basalt X, while the eC3 X gets a new 330km certified range.

New Aircross X and Basalt X variants

The main update is the addition of new engine and trim combinations. Citroen has added the turbo-petrol engine to the lower YOU trim. This makes the more powerful engine available without moving to a higher equipment level.

The new prices are:

ModelNew variantPrice
Basalt XYOU TurboRs 9.99 lakh
Basalt XMAX NARs 11.34 lakh
Aircross XYOU Turbo Comfort EditionRs 10.69 lakh
Aircross XMAX NARs 11.62 lakh

All prices are ex-showroom.

The naturally aspirated engine can also be paired with CNG. Citroen has not announced separate prices for these new CNG versions yet.

More equipment on lower variants

The YOU trims can also be ordered with a Comfort Edition package for an additional Rs 20,000.

This package adds:

  • 10.25-inch touchscreen
  • Ambient lighting
  • Beige leatherette upholstery

This gives buyers a few more features without having to move straight to the top trim.

The new turbo YOU versions use Citroen’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It produces 110hp and is meant for buyers who want stronger performance from their SUV.

eC3 X gets 330km range

Citroen has also made a small update to the eC3 X. Its certified range has increased from 325km to 330km.

The company says better energy use and efficiency improvements have helped achieve the extra range. There is no announced increase in battery size.

The eC3 X uses a 29.2kWh battery and produces 143Nm of torque. Its claimed top speed is 107kmph.

Under the Battery-as-a-Service scheme, the eC3 X Extended starts at Rs 6.99 lakh, with a battery charge of Rs 2.26 per km.

Finance scheme announced

Citroen is also offering a step-up finance plan for the new models. The loan period can go up to seven years.

The first-year EMI starts at:

  • Basalt X: Rs 9,999
  • Aircross X: Rs 10,555

These figures are based on the first year of the scheme and around 20 percent down payment. The offer is available through selected banking partners and depends on their terms.

More choices before the festive season

With these changes, Citroen has given buyers more combinations of engines, trims and features. The eC3 X also gets a small range improvement.

The new variants should give customers more options when choosing between price, performance, comfort and running costs. For Citroen, the festive season now starts with a wider product range.
