Kawasaki Ninja 300R

Regulars here would remember that we recently reported that the cyber space is abuzz of Kawasaki Ninja 300R India launch being on April 10. It may be noted that we have been closely following the developments regarding the new Ninja 300 and we were the first to publish that the Kawasaki Ninja 300R has already undergone testing at Vehicle Research and Development Establishment (VRDE). We were also one of the first few to post when the spy pics of the new bike being ‘tested’ by an employee of Bajaj-Probiking dealer emerged on the cyber space. Now, we have compiled all the data and a video of the new bike to try and give you a better picture of what the new bike is all about.

The latest bike to be sold under the Ninja moniker will replace the 250R in the fast developing Indian bike market. However, there also are a few markets where the new Ninja 300R and the 250R are sold alongside each other.

First impressions of the upcoming Kawasaki are that the Ninja 300R, which looks identical to the new 250R, is a more powerful version of the 250cc variant. Powering the Kawasaki Ninja 300R is a 296cc, parallel twin, fuel injected motor that is endowed with dual throttle valves. The engine has max power figure of 39 PS@11000 RPM and peak torque rating of 27 Nm @10,000 RPM. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via 6-speed manual gearbox. The Kawasaki Ninja 300R comes with ABS and wears 110 section tyre up front and 140 section tyre at the rear.

The body paint options for the new Kawasaki Ninja 300R include Green, Red and White.

The new bike is sure to open gates to a new segment in Indian performance bike market and should appeal to those wishing to have a wee bit more from their entry level sportsbike.

The new Kawasaki Ninja 300R could be priced about INR 50000-60000 higher than the Ninja 250R.
