The Indian subsidiary of Yamaha- Japanese bike maker giant, today launched the a new special edition of its Ray automatic scooter. Christened as the new Yamaha Ray Precious edition, the latest model comes with some new stickers (what else did you expect?).
It may be noted that Yamaha India is the official sponsor of the Ponds Femina Miss India 2013 and the latest special edition of the Ray scooter is courtesy the bike maker’s association with the popular beauty pageant.
The Yamaha Ray Precious Edition gets a black paintjob with pink decals and should appeal to the fairer sex. The scooter gets ‘Precious Edition’ written on the top of the headlight and gets Ray Cygnus written at the back.
Mechanically, the Ray remains unchanged and continues to be powered by the same 113cc air cooled 4 stroke SOHC engine that powers the standard variant. This motor makes a max power of 7.1 PS and has a peak torque of 8.1Nm. It may be noted that Yamaha has previously launched the Ray Z, which is aimed at the male audience. The Ray Z too comes with lot of decals and a small windscreen on its handlebar.
