Now, Honda Cars India has released the first TVC of the new 2014 Honda City. The new TVC talks about the amazing fuel economy of the diesel and petrol CVT variants. The diesel variant of the all new Honda City has an ARAI-rated fuel economy of 26 kmpl, making it the country’s most fuel efficient car. The new City pips its smaller sibling Amaze to being the most frugal car in the country by a meager 0.2 kmpl. It may be noted that the new City diesel is powered by the same oil  burner that powers the Amaze and has a max power of 100bhp and peak torque of 200Nm. The higher fuel efficiency is the result of a six speed transmission, instead of the Amaze’s five speed manual tranny.

The petrol variant shares its 1.5 litres iVTEC motor with the outgoing model. For the new car though, the engine has been tuned to have a higher max power and torque output of 119 PS and 145 Nm respectively. The CVT equipped petrol variant of the new City has an ARAI rated fuel efficiency figure of 18 kmpl. The manual variant is rated at 17.8 kmpl.
