We have already reported a fair bit about the upcoming Honda Vezel. The Vezel compact SUV will be launched in Japan on 20th this month and a brochure image of the Vezel Mugen variant has leaked ahead of the official event.
The Mugen variant has a lower ground clearance and has a gray finish on the grille, front spoiler, scruff plate, side skirts, wind deflector, roof spoiler, twin exhaust and alloy wheels. The Mugen variant comes with 4WD and is powered by a 1.5-liter direct injection petrol engine, the power figures of which are yet to be announced.
Once launched, the Honda Vezel will rival popular cars such as the Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008 and the Fiat 500X. The Vezel is based on the Jazz/Fit platform and boasts of ‘mini CR-V’ styling.
The Honda Vezel will also get a hybrid powertrain, which would boast of the same 1.5 litre motor that is found in the Mugen. The new Vezel would also get a 1.6-liter and a 1.8-liter EarthDream engines, along with a new gen iDTEC diesel sipping unit for markets like ours.
There are good chances that the Honda Vezel would be showcased at the upcoming 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February next year.
